Out of the corner of her eye something drew her attention, a familiar face. It was Edward and he had a companion with him, a small girl dressed in red. She wondered if she should go over there to talk to him and so with a little groan of protest from her feet she got up, patted her skirts and began to walk over to his table. Maybe she could make a friend out of his companion.
A short while later she arrives at his table. His hair is curled, he must have spent a long time deciding his apperance. It looked nice either way. Gently, she tapped him on the shoulder
"Hello Edward, you look quite enamored with your cake. But you don't have to worry, I won't steal it." she said, letting out the barest touch of laughter enter into her voice. She turned to his companion, giving her a small curtsy before speaking. "Hello, my name is Rowan. Are you having fun tonight at the ball?"

Edward was at a loss for words. Ellyllon's pure, questioning nature frequently left him speechless but this was a new one. He knew that as a person, he could be curious, that was for sure. His curiosity was fueled by his desire to make conversation and in time, friends. Ellyllon, however, was just completely innocent. She had plain old curiosity without ulterior motive. Edward's mouth had been open for a few seconds, so he quickly shut it, and avoided her gaze. He flushed a little. He really had to get used to this. He had no clue what was going on, considering he was usually so calm and collected. He inwardly kicked himself.
He briefly pondered Ellyllon's reaction. She seemed a bit on edge, he could tell that much. Edward was average at reading people, but someone like Ellyllon would be read by even the most unobservant of individuals. I wonder if I did anything to set her off? Maybe I phrased something the wrong way.... He wouldn't be surprised. Edward noticed he had unconsciously leaned towards Ellyllon, and slowly reclined in his seat, smoothing his shirt. Someone had clearly spiked the punch and he must have had too much to drink. Or maybe he was overtired? Edward wasn't sure.
A noise above him snapped him from his thoughts, and his eyes flew upwards. Edward saw a blur of red hair that appeared to be Rowan. His flush fled, replaced with a slight smile. He gestured to a chair. "Miss Rowan, a pleasure to see you. Feel free to take a seat over here. This is Ellyllon, I don't think you two have met. " He chose to ignore her comment about his cake.

[/i], pounded loudly in her mind. Ellyllon had nearly formed the words, regardless of what might result from them, when her gray gaze caught a person approaching Edward from behind. Ellylllon's words stopped in her throat. She allowed herself one last worried, anxious look toward Edward before she plastered a shy, albeit convincing, smile upon her face. Edward spoke first, as he always did; his voice sounded normal enough to quell Elyllon's fears. His smile, however slight, made Ellyllon's own more genuine. She nodded at the red-haired girl, and stepped off her chair briefly to return her curtsy. "Hello, Rowan. I am, very much so. And yourself?" she said to the girl. She was a bit too distracted to be shy in fron tof the stranger. Ellyllon sat back upon her chair, seated across from Edward. Though Ellyllon was being perfectly polite to the girl, she would have rather not had her interrupt. However, she might be a pleasant distraction form her and Edward's awkwardness. At this reminder of the distance between her and Edward, Ellyllon took her gaze from him nervously and looked to Rowan. Ellyllon tried to make an awkward attempt at conversation, but succeeded in nothing else but opening and closing her mouth shyly. Her cheeks were blushed and her gray eyes avoided Edward's dark blue gaze.[/ul]

She smiled cheerfully at the two. "I'm enjoying myself, thank you for asking. Your outfit is absolutely adorable by the way." It was, a cute red jumperskirt and a blouse, it looked darling on her petite frame. Soon Ellyllon's face dropped and Rowan grew concerned. Was she not having fun? Edward should notice her face falling and distract her with something like dancing, after all, he was her date. She decided to ask a question, hopefully livening things up and breaking the silence. "Are you two going to dance later? It seems like a shame to come to this wonderous ball and just sit down and watch others don't you think?" She folded her hands into her lap gracefully while she waited for a response.
Her mind was on dancing now. She felt the urge to waltz and almost got up to join the mass of dancers on the floor. She refrained. It would have been rude to just leave so suddenly. Who would she dance with anyways? That blonde man popped into her head again. She had seen him go in and out of the room, for god knows what reason and move something under the tables. Maybe he would let her dance with him. Bah, she shook her head to clear it from such thoughts. She didn't even know his name.

Ageha gave a slight laugh, "I guess it would be a little of both. We have festivities this time of year back home, but on a much smaller scale. So something such as this is..." Ageha searched for the right word, "...different." The girl nodded at her response and then looked around the room, again as she was searching for someone. Obviously not seeing who she was looking for, she excused herself from the table to broaden her perspective. Ageha sat alone and observed the dancers and other groups of people enjoying the ball. There was some commotion near the banquet table, but Ageha hadn't thought to investigate. Her usual curiosity was nowhere to be seen; feeling so out of place at the party, she supposed she really just wasn't feeling herself. A new person approached her, and greeted her kindly. Another girl Ageha didn't know, but she seemed very friendly. "Hello," Ageha said with a bright smile. "Everything is quite lovely. Although, I'm...still getting used to such extravagance. I've never been to such a large event before." she admitted sheepishly. "But I'm glad I did not miss it. How about yourself?" Note: Just so you know, what Ageha saw is a girl get up and leave only to immediately be followed by someone that looks exactly like her come up and take a seat as if they had never met. They look identical and are wearing the same coord. I should have made this more clear in my post.Veronica thought about the question for a moment. "I only just got here a few seconds ago. I haven't had a chance to check out much while I'm here. So far, it looks like it is a great party. Before I forget, my name is Veronica."

(Oh my! I completely forgot. I'm so sorry-thank you for reminding me!)
As this new girl began to speak, Ageha's eyes began to narrow. Wait a minute...she....the other...Ageha spun around to look for the other girl who had just been sitting with her. Seeing nothing, she turned back to the girl who now sat before her. Their faces, their outfits...identical.
Ageha had gone straight for the tables when she arrived, so there was no chance that she had drank spiked punch.
"U-um, nice...to meet you..." Ageha stared at the girl, utterly perplexed. Was she going insane?

Edward looked visibly relived. Rowan had made a very good suggestion that would ease the tension between Ellyllon and himself. He had been too distracted and confused to think straight, and vowed to never let it happen again. "Yes, Miss Rowan," Edward began, "after our chit chat, I intended to bring Ellyllon out to the dance floor. Thank you for reminding me." Edward was more thankful than Rowan knew. He continued smiling.
"However, we still have not finished eating, and sweeping Miss Ellyllon from the table as she ate would be rather rude." Edward mock scolded. "Speaking of which, Miss Rowan, you haven't any food with you. Are you not hungry? There is some amazing cake..." Edward looked longingly at the dwindling cake before him, and resigned himself to taking a few more bites.

[/i], had she worn platforms? Ellyllon smiled first at Rowan, and then at Edward; however, her smile had faltered slightly at the sight of him. She still felt guilty for his momentarily lapse of reality, beliveing that she was at fault but not knowing a reason why she would be. "What a wonderful idea, Rowan," said Ellyllon, beaming at her. "Do you enjoy dancing?" she inquired, clutching her bag in nervousness, her knuckles white. Ellyllon looked at Edward and smiled, her heart fluttering and her voice skipping. "I'm not very hungry, but I'd be more than happy to wait for you to finish," said Ellyllon, speaking the truth; the thought of dancing on the ballroom floor with her rather lack-luster skills had diminished her appetite completely, and she would wait until the dawn came for Edward to finish his cake if it meant delaying their dance. Honestly, Ellyllon enjoyed dancing with Edward; when they were alone. She would laugh at her inability to dance but have more fun than she could ever remember having when failing at something so relatively instinctive as dance. However, on the ballroom floor, in front of the entire world and their dog, Ellyllon couldn't be more afraid of making a fool of herself.[/ul]

-Alaric- enters the area
Alaric gently turned his head from side-to-side as he patrolled the area. There were many students sitting and enjoying cake, a very good one as far as he could tell from the sweet scent surrounding the tables. His shoes clacked smartly on the wooden floor as he walked around the tables. Students were milling around, some talking about classes and others about trivial topics, most of which he ignored. He did catch the tail ends of a few rumors though, again it was mostly trivial. Someone cheated on a test and got away with it. Alaric have a little sigh along with a smile, these rumors were so innocent compared to university ones. He nearly chuckled at the comparison, but he kept his tounge.
He looked at the dance floor, more partners were joining the music, it was enchanting music. Full of life and elegance. A small urge to dance crept inside his chest, he quickly squashed it. Dancing was foolish and he would only be allowed to dance with other teachers. He briefly remembered the red-haired girl from earlier but pushed her out of his mind. He turned his head back infront of him and saw once again, a head of red hair.

Levi enters the area.
Levi had finally gained his bearing or so he thought, he had gone to the bathroom and tried to look a little fresher after his long absence and daydream. He thought it would be a good time to get a little something to eat and to sit down and take some weight of his feet. For at least a few minutes.
As he was moving towards the tables and to get a seat, he noticed one of his friends sitting along the tables. Rowan sticks out of a crowd because of her red hair. She looked a little lost in her own thoughts though. After pondering a little Levi decided he would at least talk and say something to someone at least.
Levi started a slow approach towards her and noticed a man he had never seen before also looking at her. He stopped his pace and took a moment to analyze him. He looked a little bit intimidating, his jaw seemed a little too chiseled. He began to second guess himself, he seemed a little interested in also talking to her. However, now was not the time to back down Levi thought. He adjusted his shirt and continued his march towards his goal. He wanted to at least say hi and let his presence known.
He stopped in front of the table where Rowan was sitting, trying to ignore the unknown man's gazes. He looked down for a split second and immediately looked back up and into her face. "H-hey, how are you?" Levi blurted," E-enjoying the ball so far? It's fun, right. So, uh, would you like to dance with me?" Levi quickly blushed and looked to the side and noticed the man again, sadly diverting his gaze to the other direction hoping it was safe to look there. He waited for the answer he was expecting, and his legs were shaking. He hates how can be so impulsive in the most inopportune times. "Oh yeah, I think I should just go..." he voiced trailed off.
