if you are here, you are sitting at or standing near the area of tables behind the dance floor and across from the banquet, where people who don't want to dance or eat hang out.[/ul]
If you leave the thread, use this: -name- leaves the area. 2. At the dance, please wear formal clothing. This can be anything from a tux to a simple lolita coordinate, but do your best to avoid jeans and a tee shirt as much as possible. You may link an outfit for your character's post, but only link it once. 3. No alcohol, no murder, no sex, no drugging anyone's drinks. If two characters start to get into an inappropriate situation, the "fade to black" policy comes into effect. As soon as someone feels the need to start gratuitously mentioning private areas, you should either move it from the Ball Room or fade to black. 4. The dance starts at 7:00 sharp on the night before the students go home for Holiday, which happens to be on the 17th this year. It will continue officially until 12:00 am, but it may go later into the night, as this ending time is rather loose. (This is site time, correspinding to the school's time.) 5. The Yule Ball will start in real time on the 21st of December, and will continue for at least two weeks after that, or whenever the moderators feel the thread is winding down. 6. Keep track of your characters. There will be a lot of people posting here, so make sure you know who your character is with and what they are doing. Try to be active and post often. At the same time, don't steamroll people. Make sure that if you are involved with a plot with 2 or more people, you wait for everyone to have a chance to post before you post again. 7. It's okay to fight with another character, but please talk with the member who controls that character fist before starting a fight. 8. Students may come alone or with other student partners, and teachers may come alone or with other teacher partners. Teachers may not go with students, and vice versa. [/ul]

Ellyllon hadn't gone down to dinner the evening of the ball, instead choosing to head straight to her dormitory after classes had ended. It was the last day of lessons, and students would be heading home tomorrow to enjoy a warm Christmas holiday after tonight's Yule Ball. Ellyllon could not deny that she was looking forward to this immensely, for she had been longing to see if her mother was doing well. However, Elly also knew she would have a hard time leaving, knowing that she would miss Edward dearly over the break. She had spent almost every day with him since school began, and their friendship had grown impressively. Despite their close friendship, Ellyllon could not shake her infatuation with Edward, and often found herself dreaming of him. The kiss they shared was always at the back of her mind, and in her sleep she relived it. Ellyllon doubted she would be able to abandon her crush on Edward. However, their friendship was worth more to her than anything else at this time; she didn't wish to ruin it by giving into such awkward, teenage desires. She wondered where, and to what, he what he was going home to, and was surprised she had never asked. Then again, he had not asked her about her home life, either. She made a mental note to inquire about the subject after they came back from break, believing the ball was an improper place to ask questions of that sort. When Ellyllon reached her dormitory, there were still hours to go before the dance. She doubted greatly she would take very long, but she often had a tendency to get distracted by reading when she needed to do other things. After a quick shower, with a battered copy of East of Eden in her tiny hands, Ellyllon made her way to her dressing room. She stood in front of her wardrobe; a plain, hickory sort of thing, for quite a while, sometimes ruffling through her sum of clothing, searching in vain. She stood looking rather cute, slightly pigeon toed with her arms crossed, one hand reached up to press a finger to her tiny, pouting lips. Ellyllon did not prepare a formal outfit when she packed for the school year. She thought that, like every year, she would excuse herself from the Yule Ball and go to bed early that night. But this year, for the first time ever, she had been asked to the ball. They were really going as friends, but Ellyllon suspected that Edward, her escort for the evening, knew how much it meant to her. She had been incomparably excited the entire day, having had some trouble focusing on her lessons in favor of day-dreaming of the night to come. Looking to her right, Ellylllon saw a vase of flowers perched upon a windowsill. She gasped, her slate gray eyes widening with a sudden stroke of genius. Rifling through her wardrobe, she pulled out clothes almost randomly, often putting them back the moment she took them out. After fifteen minutes of this, she had come up with a red rose inspired coordination. Tying her hair in a loose bun to keep it out of the way, Ellyllon dressed, giddy as a school girl going out on her first date. She was trembling slightly as she pulled up her socks, her heart hammering in her chest from excitement. After doing her trailing, golden locks in a rare style of tight curls on the upper layer of her hair, pinned up with burgundy clips and peachy pink flower pins, Ellyllon stood in the mirror to examine herself. She had put on much more makeup than she usually would; but felt it was a special enough occasion to dip into the jars of cosmetics she normally never even looked at. Smelling of roses from her perfume, she pulled back a strand of hair that had attached itself to her glossy lip. Taking a deep breath, Ellyllon forced herself to get going, knowing if she dawdled too much in nervousness she would leave Edward waiting at the doors the entire night. Her rocking horse shoes made loud, clopping noises on the floor as she traveled down tot he ballroom. She tried to quiet them, taking minuscule steps in an attempt to stop their tremendous echo. But, to no avail. She cursed silently, knowing that it would be difficult to dance in the platforms, anyway. Realizing that it was too late to go back and change, Ellylon continued to make her way down the hall, her hair swinging behind her in a beautiful curtain of sectioned silk. Upon reaching the doors to the ballroom, Ellyllon hesitated. Taking care to adjust her gloves, she fixed her woolen caplet over her tiny, sloping shoulders. The girl breathed deeply before crossing the threshold, walking in swiftly, her hair trailing behind her. Immediately, she was overtaken with the sights of dancing, eating, and talking. Wholly overwhelmed by these new sensations, the girl raced to the tables behind the dance floor, blushing slightly. Resting now by a table near the front, she looked around with stony eyes, searching for a boy she knew she would immediately recognize. She clutched her bag nervously, looking like a lost child as her head turned to and fro in her effort to find Edward. [/ul]

Edward enters the area.Edward had been up all day, pacing to and fro in his room. Tonight was the Yule Ball and he had to look his best. There was no doubt that everyone, especially Miss Junko and others like her would be looking their best in smashing outfits and loaded accessories. In his outfit contemplation Edward had forgotten to eat. Unfortunately, that had taken up the entire day and his stomach grumbled loudly. He sighed, and sat down on his bed. So far, he had picked out mostly white items. The last thing he need to figure out were his shoes. He had narrowed it down to some white boots and a pair of platform type shoes. He held his chin in his hand, and looked like he was contemplating some great, unsolvable mystery. He finally decided on the shoes. The boots would look awkward with his pants. In the end, everything came together quite nicely in all white. He smiled to himself, feeling a bit proud. Then the doubt kicked in. What if it doesn't flow right? I don't think it's good enough. Well, it will have to be...Ed's smile turned into a slight frown. He sat and stared at the outfit for what must have been ten minutes. His stomach then reminded him that he should get down to the ballroom sometime soon. He slowly got dressed, then took a glance in the mirror. Everything looked pretty good, though he couldn't help but think he'd be outdone anyway. To prepare for such an instance, he had put some hair rollers in his hair the previous night. His hair had a slight curl to it naturally but he didn't think that would cut it today. He carefully took each strand out, and fastened them all with a big white ribbon to the side of his head so the hair dangled upon his shoulder and chest area. Inspecting himself further in the mirror, he didn't feel satisfied and preened himself for another few minutes before deciding to go glove-less. He began down the stairs, and his mind wandered. Edward's excitement, and hunger, grew every minute. He couldn't wait to see everyone's outfits, and get more of a feel for their style. His stomach continued its annoying rumbling as he glided down the stairs silently. Excited voices streamed down the hall after Edward had finished descending the stairs; they were filled with joy, excitement and delight. It was truly going to be a magnificent event, filled with dancing, laughing, pretty things and food, the latter giving him an extra push towards the ballroom where scents were now wafting from. He slipped in the door behind a gaggle of girls. His eyes scanned the room for both food and Ellyllon. Of course he would have to wait for food, but that didn't mean he wasn't hungry. He needed to know where the food was in advance. He spotted a blur of dark red and focused on it; upon further inspection it proved to be Ellyllon. Edward ran a finger through the bit of hair he had left hanging by the side of his face, and walked over to the girl. He bowed slightly to her, then raised. "Miss Ellyllon! You look beautiful tonight."

Edward saw Ellyllon glance down at his platforms. He mentally kicked himself. She's shorter than I am...what on earth was I thinking? A smile tugged at his lips when her saw how comical the height difference was, however. He looked at Ellyllon's shoes, only to discover she was also wearing platforms. She still didn't reach anywhere near his height, however. He chuckled at this. Edward looked at Ellyllon again; her hair had taken a brilliant golden sheen in the slightly dim lights of the ballroom. The person who was going to have her would be lucky indeed.
"Thank you for asking, Miss Ellyllon..." Edward smiled down at her. "I've been good, however, I'm quite famished." Indeed, his stomach was rumbling quite loudly. "I'm afraid I haven't eaten much today. Would you mind joining me over at that table?" He pointed to a table covered in soft white cloth. "The food looks delicious." Before heading over, Edward removed the hand that had been hidden behind his back, producing a yellow rose. "I thought you might appreciate this..." He said, holding it out to her. He had to do a special run the day prior to get it, and Edward hoped she would be happy with it.

Violet enters the room.Violet slipped into the Yule ball, feeling quite guilty that her sister was back in the room, alone. It wasn't fair that the two of them could not both attend the Yule festival. She had thought to try and disguise herself, perhaps see if Froid had a wig to borrow. However, she had heard talk that they would be monitoring the door and checking each student that came in. Using a disguise would not work. The deciding factor had been that Froid had agreed to go with Violet to the dance and Veronica did not have a partner. It sucked for Veronica, but Violet could have a good time and tell her all about it later. She put on her new coordinate, specially picked out to match her partner's hair as much as she could. She had wanted something bit more in the style of Froid's crazy look, but Veronica had been against that. It would be too crazy for them to do that right now. Once inside, she went to the dinning area and gave a smile and a wave to her roommate, Ellyllon and Edward who were talking together. She took a seat at a table and kept her eyes open for Froid, hoping that she would arrive soon.

Ageha enters the room
Ageha quietly walked into the ballroom. She had almost not come at all, her shyness getting the better of her. Not only that, but she as a terrible dancer. She knew she would only end up embarrassing herself, as always. But, she had talked herself into it, and at least wanted to sit and observe.
She saw the tables on the other side of the room, and quickly made her way over. Her dress was simple, black; her favorite coordinate color. There really weren't any formal events in her tiny mountain town, so she hadn't had to dress as such before. But what she did have at least met the dress code for the event tonight.
Ageha spotted a girl she did not know sitting by herself. She'd seen the girl around before, but didn't know her name. The girl looked anxious about something, as she kept looking around the room, and particularly the entrance. 'She's probably be waiting for someone.'
Ageha decided to at least speak to the girl for a few minutes if she could, even if it was small talk. Maybe it would help alleviate some of the girl's restlessness. Ageha slid into a chair at the table.
"Hello. Are you enjoying the ball so far?" Ageha put on one of her weak smiles, trying to be as friendly as possible.

Violet was watching all of the excitement take place around her. She watched each bobbing head the moved nearby or into the area with eager anticipation that she would recognize the blue hair of Froid. Many people passed by, but so far, she had not.
She looked up as someone came sliding into the chair beside her. She thought for a moment in my be Froid having snuck into the Yule ball without her noticing. She saw another student instead. Though disappointed it wasn't who she was looking for, she was very happy to have some company.
"It is such a wonderful ball! Everything here looks so amazing. How about yourself, are you having a good time?"

The girl's expression changed slightly when she saw Ageha, clearly she had been expecting someone else. But, none the less, she answered with a smile. Ageha responded to the girl's question in return,
"I, well..I just got here actually. Everything's beautiful of course."Ageha matched the other girl's response. What she said was true, everything was indeed beautiful. Nothing less than extraordinary really. They had paid no expense in making sure everything was perfect.
"This is the first time I've ever been to such a large party," Ageha admitted. " To be honest, I'm not used to such things," she put on a nervous, yet sincere smile.
