if you are here, you are either dancing, talking, or somehow interacting on the dance floor.[/ul]
If you leave the thread, use this: -name- leaves the area. 2. At the dance, please wear formal clothing. This can be anything from a tux to a simple lolita coordinate, but do your best to avoid jeans and a tee shirt as much as possible. You may link an outfit for your character's post, but only link it once. 3. No alcohol, no murder, no sex, no drugging anyone's drinks. If two characters start to get into an inappropriate situation, the "fade to black" policy comes into effect. As soon as someone feels the need to start gratuitously mentioning private areas, you should either move it from the Ball Room or fade to black. 4. The dance starts at 7:00 sharp on the night before the students go home for Holiday, which happens to be on the 17th this year. It will continue officially until 12:00 am, but it may go later into the night, as this ending time is rather loose. (This is site time, correspinding to the school's time.) 5. The Yule Ball will start in real time on the 21st of December, and will continue for at least two weeks after that, or whenever the moderators feel the thread is winding down. 6. Keep track of your characters. There will be a lot of people posting here, so make sure you know who your character is with and what they are doing. Try to be active and post often. At the same time, don't steamroll people. Make sure that if you are involved with a plot with 2 or more people, you wait for everyone to have a chance to post before you post again. 7. It's okay to fight with another character, but please talk with the member who controls that character fist before starting a fight. 8. Students may come alone or with other student partners, and teachers may come alone or with other teacher partners. Teachers may not go with students, and vice versa. [/ul]

-Alaric- enters the area
As a new teacher, Alaric took his responsibilities very seriously. To night was the night of the Yule ball and he knew all hell could break loose if not properly monitored. That's what Alaric's job was. He was to monitor the room to make sure everyone was having a good time and no one was being inapporpriate. Easy enough he assumed. His shoes gently clacked against the hardwood as he walked towards the large, impressive wooded doors. Nodding to Snape, who was at the door, he walked in and adjusted the rose at his throat and prepared himself mentally for the rest of the evening.

Andrew enters the areaOJ paced outside of the door of the ball. Every thirty seconds he adjusted his jabot. (<- Thar be link) His fingers glistened with the silver of his multiple rings. He'd brought out all of his best jewelry. Even the silver loop in his left ear was new. But he felt stifled in all of these ruffles. He was still getting used to aristocratic style, and he felt much more comfortable in the casual, loose fitting clothes of Visual Kei more. But for this event, he didn't feel appropriate. Miss Junko was on the other side of these doors. He really wanted to see her. He wanted to enter with her on his arm. But she was out of his reach tonight. What was she wearing? No doubt she was beautiful, no matter what she wore. She was always beautiful. And tonight she wasn't his. No problem, no matter. OJ had to worry about impressing Vivian tonight. His one purpose was to make sure she had a good time. This was her time, not his. She was the one who needed this, not him. OJ stepped back from the door and adjusted his jabot again. "It's showtime," he muttered to himself before leaning against the wall to wait for Vivian's arrival.

Rowan was nervous as she walk towards the doors of the ballroom. What if she danced horribly? Would she even dance at all? Before the last turn she adjust the hem of her dress (<--- You have spotted a wild link!) to make sure everything hung just right. She stopped OJ pacing in front of the doors ancd chuckled. "Are you really that nervous?" She called out to him.

OJ jumped at the sound of someone's voice. He turned quickly. "Oh, Rowan, it's just you." He laughed nervously. How embarrassing, getting caught acting so nervous and upset about something as trivial as this. It was just a dance, for crying out loud! There were worse things to get nervous about.
Like losing your cool in front of a teacher you had the hots for.
Forcing the thoughts of his head, he smiled at Rowan. "I'm just a little apprehensive, I suppose. I've never been to a dance like this before, really. And I'm not used to wearing stiffy clothes like this." He adjusted his jabot again, then cast her an adorable smile. "You gorgeous by the way, Rowan. I'd love to dance with you some time tonight, if you'll have me."

Rowan's face fell into a calm, elegant smile. "And you look positively dashing. You also have nothing to worry about. I've been to something like this before, although it was mainly with adults. And yes. I'd be delighted to dance with you at anytime," she told him. She sunk into a small curtsy and then leaned on the wall next to him.
"I hope they let us in soon," she said. She was really looking forward to the decor.

Levi enters the area.
Levi figured it was about time to join the Yule Ball, he also liked being punctual to important occasions but on celebrations liked being a little behind. He always liked going into a room and seeing everyone already there and enjoying themselves, it was easier to blend in.
He was sporting his clothing for special occasions (visible in his closet, the first post). He was ready to get his party on. He walked down the halls, stopping every few steps to fix anything he felt was off. Just in case, tonight was the night of wardrobe perfection. As he approached the door and stopped one final time, wondering if he should turn back or not. He also hates these moments. Checking his pocket watch always gave him the confidence. So he stepped through the large doors.
As he walked in hanging his head trying not to draw too much attention to himself, why would he ever want to be late and then regret being late. Sometimes he hated himself. This is time for cheer not kicking himself.
Time to find a dance anyways, but there still aren't many people to ask. As if he could ask someone his self. The next lady he sees he will ask for a dance. Swallow his awkward shyness and proceed to courage.

Oj's mind was set slightly more at ease at Rowan's reassurance, but it still didn't change the fact that he was freaking out on the inside. It wasn't the dance that was making him nervous, he realized. It was the fact that there was going to be a beautiful lady on the other side. She'd seemed accepting of his reasons for taking Vivian to the dance, but OJ had his doubts. She would get upset, he knew it. But there was nothing he could really do about it.
"Oh, I think we're allowed in," he said to Rowan, getting more and more distracted. "But I'm just waiting for... for my date," he finished with a smile.

The doors were opening and Rowan's heart started to race. She gave an understanding nod to her friend and pushed herself off of the wall, but not before whispering to him. "Calm down and just breathe. Everything will be fine. You don't need to get so anxious about it. And before you tell me that your not anxious, I know you are. Your sweating slightly. Just be calm."
Walking to the doors she gave him a little wave goodbye before entering. "I'm going in now. Good luck with your date!" she told him.

Alaric walked around the dance floor, keeping his eyes keen incase anyone put a toe out of line. The ball was just getting started so he didn't think he'd have too much to do. He peered around at the tables and saw a boy in white and a girl in red together. The girl touched his hair and the boy bowed. He took a minute to glare at them as a reminder so they wouldn't try anything funny and resumed his pace. Everything was proceeding smoothly and a few brave people had even started to dance. He let out a small sigh, maybe tonight wouldn't be as bad as he hoped.
