Noelle enters the area.
Noelle poked her head around the door of the cafe. No one was at her table yet, which meant she would be alone for now.
Normally, she wasn't big on Valentine's Day, but today she'd actually tried to make an effort. She was wearing a sailor-style jumper skirt, with her hair tied back, but curled. A demure pink rose had been pinned in her hair, and she'd put a bit of makeup on today, which was something she hadn't done in a while; a little bit of blue eye makeup, blusher, and some pink lipgloss to match the rose.
Noelle scanned her eyes down the list of names at her table. Edward she had spoken to briefly at dinner, Aaron she had never met, and Miss Junko, who had been at the Yule Ball. She felt relieved, if she felt uncomfortable around the guys, at least there was a female teacher to talk to. Plus everyone would be friendly, or at least, she hoped.
She sat down at the table, checking her appearance in a little pocket mirror. Today was going to be a very special day. She put away the mirror and waited for the others to arrive.

Aaron enters the area.Confident steps resounded on the polished floors as the tall boy headed to the table he had been assigned. Aaron eyed the nearly empty table with some distaste- he had hoped to make some sort of entrance, but this would have to do. A sigh escaped his lips as he straightened the suit jacket he had worn for the occasion and decided to make the best of it. This set up was something completely new to him- although the concept of a group date itself wasn't that foreign. In Tokyo and Korea Valentines had always been a girl's holiday- one were all he had to do was to decide whither or not accept their chocolates. Oh well- this was a different country and if there was one thing the prideful boy knew how to do, it was adapt. Pushing aside his initial misgivings he found that he had finally arrived at his assigned table. The only other occupant appeared to be a brunette girl who appeared to have made an effort to appear appropriate for the occasion just as he had. Her visual impression was good, but he knew better than to ever let that get in the way of his actual thoughts on the person. Clearing his throat slightly he gave her what he thought to be a rather winning and confident smile, "Hello there- it appears we're the first to arrive."

Others were starting to arrive, but Noelle was still sitting alone on her table. She saw a few faces she recognized here and there, but they all went to different tables. She began to get even worried about the people on her table; she hadn't met most of them, what if they didn't get along? It wasn't her place to be worried, she'd probably just chat to them, maybe start a friendship, but nothing more. For now.
Noelle lifted her head to see a tall boy with charcoal colored hair walking towards her table. At last, someone was here. The disadvantage of being early was that she usually sat twiddling her thumbs for a few minutes without talking to anyone, but being early was better than late, at least. The boy looked at her and smiled. For heaven's sake, smile back Noelle. She smiled back, and gave a little giggle. Slowly, she was becoming a bit less reserved than usual.
"It seems so." she replied to the boy. "I don't know about you, but I'm a little nervous. I'm Noelle, by the way."

His smile didn't falter despite the fact that his impression of her had taken a small hit. Although he was aware that people felt nervous and scared and all those other seemingly superfluous emotions he was unused to and rather disapproving of someone stating it so quickly. Aaron allowed his dark, slightly slanted eyes to meet hers before letting them slide down her form in an open appraisal of her person. His gaze leapt back up to her's before he allowed himself to respond smoothly, "Ah- Aaron Wright. It's a pleasure to meet you Miss Noelle."
Dark boots began their light tapping again as the tall boy approached the table once more, aiming for the chair next to the girl. His long, pale fingers landed lightly on the dark wood of the seat- sliding along the varnished material as he waited for a moment. After an appropriately short pause he turned back to his only companion thus far and spoke in his odd, mixed accent, "You wouldn't mind too much if I took the seat beside you?" This time when he gave the nervous girl another smile it was accompanied by a raised eyebrow and a slight tilt of his body towards her's. Although he wasn't too fond of this particular holiday, he would never turn down to make a good impression- especially on the fairer sex.

"No, not at all.", Noelle smiled. Maybe she shouldn't be nervous at all. Her shy manner meant that meeting new people was sometimes a little difficult, but at least today seemed a bit more relaxed, it was just to get to know people after all. She couldn't quite place the boy's accent, or his appearance, it seemed as though he'd been all over the world. Noelle had only once left England for a school trip, so she wasn't sure what other countries were like.
She watched as the boy with the long lithe body sat down beside her. he had some sort of air about him, not necessarily regal, but dignified, as if he was a determined person. Though Noelle wasn't one to judge just from first appearances. If she was going to be a friendlier person, she might as well start now and talk to this new boy.
"So Aaron," she spoke, after he had sat down. "Tell me a bit more about yourself. Where are you from?"

Reclining a bit in the chair- Aaron allowed his gaze to shift over the other tables as he processed her question. His long fingers slid into their customary place inside the pockets of his suit coat just after one hand rearranged the collar of his plaid shirt. Although the question should have been simple there were many different ways he could possibly have answered the girl. The majority of his thoughts tended toward the shorter, less involved answer he would normally present to someone. However, the nagging voice in the back of his mind that always had an odd hint of his father's tone kept telling him it was important to create good connections- especially with someone whom one would be spending an entire evening with, let alone a year or so of school.
FInally he gave into his better judgement and returned his eyes back to the petite female and her question, "Well- if you couldn't already tell due to my charming accent-" Here he paused for a slight wink, "I'm from a lot of places. I've spent most of my life in Japan- though I've been schooled in both Korea and Australia."

"Wow, really?" Noelle was amazed, she'd never really met anyone from another country before she'd come to Mille-feuille, her town had been quite small, so everyone had known everyone and their grandparents and so on. Aaron seemed so much more worldly than she was. "I've never been further than Germany, that's amazing."
Noelle was enjoying the small talk, but it was still only between her and Aaron, she was beginning to wonder where the rest of her table were. Maybe they were just late. It was still pretty early into the event. She noticed that Aaron's gaze had slipped a little, perhaps he was thinking the same. Anyway, that didn't matter at the moment, she was enjoying this conversation.
She returned her mind to Aaron. "So you've been to lots of different countries, huh? Where's your favourite, if you have a favourite?"

His dark eyes focused on his companion as she admitted to having traveled so little. A quick smirk over took his face as he shrugged off the thought, "It isn't such a big deal- my father has branches of his company in a lot of countries." As he responded he contemplated what it would be like to have spent so much of one's life in the same place. Aaron wasn't sure if he envied this girl or if he pitied her for this fact.
Focusing his attention on the next question he tilted the chair he sat in back onto two legs- confident in his ability to stay upright, "Ah- I think my favorite country was probably... Korea." This question was one he had practice in answering, so he had the lines that accompanied it well rehearsed by this point, "Seoul just has so much life- and the people there are a lot of fun." Smirking slightly he tilted his head closer to hers and winked one slanted eye in a friendly manner, "I'd be more than willing to take you there some time- to 'broaden your horizons.'"

Noelle wondered a little over Aaron's coy suggestion of showing her Korea. Though he was probably joking, it was a dream of hers to visit a few other countries, although Finland had always been her top wish, as it had been where her grandmother was from (the grandmother from whom she had inherited her middle name and the treasured gold necklace she always wore. Germany and Italy were also quite a large interest to her as well, she'd like to return to the former but had never been to the latter. It was exciting to hear tales from someone who had been to so many other places. No wonder Berwick, where she had come from, had seemed so stifling, where the furthest she usually went was Edinburgh. "Oh, I'd love to go, one day." replied Noelle. "I'd love to see the world. Germany, Rome, Finland, America...there's so many places I want to go to." She giggled. "I live just under the border to Scotland, so the only big city I'm used to is Edinburgh. It was a little confined, where I lived, but I got by. My friends were there and all." In actual fact, she'd hated it. It wasn't a place for young people, the only place she'd ever really gone with friends was the bars and clubs, which weren't even that great. Only a few decent bookshops as well. Mille-feuille was like a breath of fresh air to her. "You must have seen loads, places and people." She was really intrigued by this boy.
