OJ smiled and pulled himself away from Vivian. She sounded just like he did not two months ago. Always willing to be selfless so that others could be selfish. Always sacrificing herself so that others did not have to. It was all a familiar song that OJ used to sing every day since his sister got sick.
"Yes, my sister is wise, especially for her years. But I never quite understood what she really meant until coming here. Sometimes you have to be selfish. Sometimes your happiness must come first. I think you'll find that others will be more understanding about your selfishness than you may think."
Leaning forward, OJ kissed Vivian on the cheek. He smiled down at her and placed a comforting, friendly hand on her shoulder. "I'm going to get drinks," he said before slipping away. "I'll grab you one, too, okay?"
And with that, OJ slipped back inside to the ballroom.

Vivian sighed and looked at the nigth sky. She knew that she never could hurt her mother for hurting her would only hurt Vivian too. "Until spring then." she murmured almost feeling the lotus crown on her hair. She gave a bitter little smile and turned to look at the balcony doors. She really should go in.

Julie enters the area
The food seemed delicious, but the banquet area was so crowded! Julie didn't even try to understand what was going on, as soon as she saw all those people, she turned and started the search for another place.
She was pleased to find an empty balcony. The breeze was so refreshing and comfortable... Julie thought that it would be hard to get used to England's winter, but it was surprinsingly delightful. She looked up and gasped at the sight of so many stars. Beautiful.
"See that, Julie?", she could hear her brother's voice clearly. "I don't have the slightest idea of what that's called! But isn't it amazing?". She giggled. Usually, she would try to block these memories, but this time, she let them come to her freely.
"I could stay here all night...", she whispered.

The girl completely lost track of time while watching the stars and thinking about home. Her neck even hurt when she turned her head back to the ground. She lightly massaged it and let out a yawn. Who was she trying to fool thinking that she could have fun at a party? The ball was far from ending, but Julie already wanted to go to bed. At least this time she wasn't a wallflower the whole time...
"Still, I almost didn't talk to anybody", she thought. "Well then, I'll just find Vivian to say good night and go back to the dorm".

[/b] Ellyllon burst through the doors to the balcony, feeling as if she was going to be sick very soon. The air around her was freezing but she barely noticed; it was if a fever was consuming her. She felt clammy and her palms were sweaty as she pressed them against her lower waist, hoping to eradicate that awful pain which consumed her. Her platforms clicked alone the cold, stone surface as she ran to the railing. She launched herself against it, stretching out her arms just in time for her hands to catch the railing and break her speed. Her long, curled hair fell over her face as she bent her head over the rail, gasping for air, gulping it down her parched throat. Ellyllon's breathing calmed slightly after a few seconds of this. Her shoulders rose and fell with no longer alarming speed, but her knees still trembled under her rosy socks. Groaning, she lifted her heavy head up, her eyes searching the starry night before her. The girl's grayish orbs were open only slightly as she tried to focus on something other than the pain. The stars...they looked so beautiful, so free. Ellyllon knew they were simply balls of gas and fire rolling in the distance, too far away for her to even imagine. But they looked so very lovely, this cold, unrelenting night. Suddenly, Ellyllon screamed in pain. Her arms fell from the railing to clutch unhappily at her lower stomach. The girl whimpered helplessly, like a wounded animal. Black spots danced in front of the scene before her, infiltrating her vision like a swarm of dark insects, swimming across the frozen horizon. Her eyes spun back into her head, and her lips parted in a silent moan. Ellyllon fell backward, her hair fanning out in front of her like a silken curtain, obscuring her pale face. If she had been conscious, the girl would have hoped not to hit the cold, stone floor beneath her. Her clothing rustled in the breeze she was creating, finally released from that awful pain which had berated her unmercifully.[/ul]

Vincent enters the area
Somewhat disoriented, the gardener turned to what he believed was the direction of the entrance to the ballroom, but he encountered tables against the wall on his right side. Which he didn't before. Which meant he was going the wrong way and actually heading further into the room. A little further along, he came across the balcony area. Nope, entirely the wrong way.
The young man glanced around and found that the entrance was all the way at the other end. Definitely, entirely the wrong direction. He then realized that he had been toting around a bucket and mops through an entire length of the ballroom and grimaced when he realized he would have to pass by again. As he turned, he suddenly heard a sharp cry behind him; his head swung around towards the balcony area once more, and he caught glimpse of a student crouched near the railing.
She was clutching her middle, which didn't seem like a good sign.
Vincent approached cautiously. "Excuse me...miss? Are you--"
He didn't have a chance to finish as the girl suddenly pitched backward. Without thinking, he half-dropped, half-tossed aside everything and lunged forward in effort to catch the girl before she cracked her head open. She fell against his knees, and he caught hold of her arms.
"Miss?! Are you all right?" Vincent crouched with the student shifted with her upper body supported by his arm as he gently shook her shoulder. He cursed; she had fainted, it seemed. With a shaking hand, he pushed the hair out of her pale face, confirming she was out cold. He needed to get her to the school doctor.
The water had spilled behind the gardener across the floor of the balcony near the doorway, colored a light red by the punch he had mopped up some minutes ago.

Edward enters the area.
Edward huffed in mild tiredness as he neared the balcony. The slight sprint from the tables to where he was now almost exhausted him. I should get in shape. I have zero muscles or endurance... He glanced out the window to the balcony and saw Ellyllon, but also a staff member whom he hadn't become familiar with until now. The staff member appeared to be helping Ellyllon, who was what he assumed was unconscious on the ground. Edward ran a hand through his hair to detangle any knots before stepping lightly through the door to the balcony. Upon further inspection, the staff member was holding the unconscious Ellyllon in his lap, and looked positively concerned.
"Excuse me," Edward stepped over to the pair, and crouched down beside him. "She ran off from where we were sitting after she doubled over in pain. I'm not sure, maybe her appendix is bursting?" Poor Ellyllon, Edward thought, having to go through such pain. He shook his head in sympathy.
He figured he may as well offer to help. "If you so wish, I will help carry her over to the doctor," he paused in thought, "or I'll run and get him, if you'd like."

Vincent considered for a moment to bring her inside--she was quite small--but he wasn't sure if the doctor had returned from the infirmary or dorm, or wherever they had taken that girl. It wasn't a good idea to jostle around someone who had been in pain, or was in pain? "Miss?" he said, softer, as he gently shook her shoulder again.
Maybe he ought to set her down somewhere or--
A voice near him startled him out of thought, and the gardener glanced up to another student--possibly her date? "A-ah. Her appendix?" he asked, glancing back down to the female student. "That...er. Maybe you should go find the doctor. I'll stay here in case she wakes up." Frankly, he didn't want to go wandering around in there anyway.
Gently, he picked the girl up and laid her on one of the benches. "Ah, could you also bring a glass of water when you come back? In case she wakes up?" Vincent asked the boy.

Edward looked down at the staff member. He would have to get his name later, right now, Ellyllon was in some sort of pain and they needed to get her to a doctor. Edward heaved a dramatic sigh. Why did everyone have to go around fainting on days like this? Was it the social pressure? He wasn't sure. Edward bit his lip in irritation.
"His name is Dr. Ludvig, correct?" Edward almost groaned. He knew of the teacher and vague physical details from the tales of other students. "He has that nurse, isn't she Vivian?" Edward almost continued, but remembered Ellyllon was knocked out. "Yes, sure, I'll find some water for her." He started for the door. Maybe she had too much cake.
Edward leaves the area.
Edward enters the area.
He set the cup of water down near the unconscious Ellyllon. "They should be coming shortly."

Ludvig has entered the area
Ludvig von Bakken made his way onto the balcony half-expecting there to be some sort of strange device hooked up in the area dumping strange chemicals into the air. Two fainting incidents in one night on the balcony was two, too many. He was slightly panged in disappointment that there wasn't any obvious signs of the repeat causes in the area. However, he noticed that punch had been spilled near the door. This punch, it was as cursed as the balcony was.
He saw the student lying down on the ground with two students around her. There was the boy that had fetched him and Vincent Snape. He moved over quickly to the student and leaned down to examine her looking first for any obvious signs of injury or anything life-threatening that would require first priority. When he was sure that she was not in immediate threat, he asked, "Vhat happened to this one?"
As a quick thought, he added, "Mister student, after ve have assessed the situation, I vant you to fetch my medical bag down by the buffet table. I vill need it."
