Waltz... Julie had watched many couples dancing it, but had only tried it once. And it was with an imaginary partner, but, well, it still counted, right?
The song started and they began to dance. At first, she was a little nervous and staring at the ground, careful not to step on his foot. Julie was not a good dancer. Actually, she wasn't good at anything that was too delicate or that involved many details, like sewing or drawing. But as she looked up into the boy's eyes, she forgot her inaptitude and let herself be leaded by him. Once again, she was taken by the magical atmosphere around him. Julie felt that time ceased to exist while they were dancing, and she simply followed him, unaware if she was or not stepping on his foot.

Varun returned Miryo's quick embrace, surprised but delighted at her lack of reservation. "I only just got here myself." He admitted. "It would appear our inabilities to arrive on time compliment each other." He took a moment to look around, taking in faces and and outfits and decorations. Everything certainly was impressive, and he could only hope the night's events would live up to the grandeur of the setting.
"Are you hungry?" He asked his guest, trying to play the part of the host. "Thirsty? Or--" The music shifted as the beginning of a waltz wafted over the guests. He saw other couples already stepping out onto the dance floor, teachers and students alike. "Would you like to dance?"

Miryo shook her head. "Not yet." In truth, she had eaten a little beforehand; even though she had helped in the catering for the event, she wasn't sure if she would spend the whole night dancing, or what. She glanced over to the dance floor, following Varun's gaze.
"Sure," she replied to his inquiry of dancing. "Though, I admit I'm not very good at waltzing." Miryo glanced up at Varun, suddenly self-aware of this somewhat annoying fact that she was more used to clubs than fancypants events like this.

Feallan held Julie on the dance floor with her gaze. He could tell that she was inexperienced with waltzing. Yet, for all of her inexperience, she moved with grace and fell perfectly within his lead. That was exactly what he wanted. He wanted to lift her up so that it would be as if she was dancing on the very clouds. He had the strength to be here for one dance, no more and no less and Julie was making that one dance go so much greater than expected.
"You seem so magical here tonight. I couldn't help, but be drawn to you. For all that you have enchanted me with this night, could I ask you one favor? I would love more than anything else to hear the sweetness of your voice speak the words of your name. When I close my eyes next and see the beauty of you in my dreams, I need to know by what name to call out."

She blushed and answered, almost in a whisper "My name is Julie.... Julie Rin Hideaki... May I also ask who you are?". She was secretly afraid that the boy might suddenly disappear if she somehow broke the magic of that moment.

Ludvig felt the ease and understanding of the Waltz with each of Vivian's steps. He led her into fancier steps and spins. He savored on to every second and every note of this far too short of a song. Each step was magical for him as he danced across the air.
It was a shame he couldn't do this every day. He should be able to express his feelings with Vivian without fear. He would soon, but first he had to start warming up his relations with the other staff. If he could find at least one other staff member to support him, he could pull this all off. He was considering approaching Junko about the matter, but he had to approach all of this delicately.
His distraction caused him to slip, he mis-led Vivian and blushed with embarrassment. He recovered quickly and before long, the entire incident was behind him as he danced with her until the song's end.

Feallan smiled brightly to Julie, putting on all of his charm. Of course, he had known her name, he had known it since the moment she had touched the coin in the fairy ring. It hadn't been given to him, and that was the difference. His charm was, for the most part, legitimate. He needed her and she was a beacon of everything he desired. She was beautiful and endearing, and she would save them.
"I've known several names, but it mean the most if you would call me, Feallan. Though perhaps that name could best describe you, for it is your beauty and charm that better suits the ancient name for the autumn season."
Of course he couldn't tell her his true name, not yet at least. It would come, but if he spoke it now, he would become powerless and everything would be for naught.

The waltz seemed all too short and as it drew to a close Vivian sighed. She had felt like never before being lead by Ludvigs arms. every turn and twirl had seemed s natural and at the same time magical that she felt sad when it ended.
She owered her gaze from Ludvig so no one could she the feelings so clearly written in her eyes. This moment would be the thing she'd use to survive the holidays ahead. Who cared if her fool of a father had invited lord Thorton. She had Ludvig in her heart and nothing would change that.

Ludvig's expression of complete joy faded as the song ended. He still felt the love for Vivian and held onto that magical moment he had just shared with her. But it had been too fleeting, and he could not hold onto it forever.
Saddened, by this fact, he said, "I vill ask Miss Julie to dance and then I vill return to my duties. I must say that this vas one of the greatest moments of my life and I vill remember this forever."

Julie slowly stopped as the song reached its end, but the magic that had captivated her remained there, and they still were hand in hand, in the waltz position. "Feallan...", she said, sparkling eyes looking up to his, "Are you a student here...? You just... don't seem real...". What she really wanted to know was if she could see him again someday, even if it were just walking around the school.
