height , 5'2
weight , 121
tattoos and piercings , Miss Boucher's ears are pierced, but she has no tattoos.
best feature , Aldys' face is pretty, with bluish-green, catlike eyes, tiny little mouth and a nose that makes her look like some kind of a cute critter. She's quite youthful for her age, which in her mind allows her to still indulge in the lolita style before the wrinkles start forming.
general , Miss Boucher prefers black, white and red as far as colours go, but her style of dress is nearly always either Gothic lolita or Victorian aristocrat. She usually wears a white wig over her long, rose-red hair. Aldys has quite the dramatic aura to her, partially due to her choice of clothing.
Miss Boucher doesn't smother herself with jewelery and knick-knacks, but chooses to wear finely cut, good quality dresses and a few well-chosen accessories that are accentuated by particular garments. She frequents antique stores and loves vintage.
playby , myself (but the character is vastly different from me!)

likes , reading the classics, dark music, black (bordering on morbid) humour, intelligent conversations, the fine arts and luxury.
dislikes , disobedience, purposeful vapidity, the color yellow, horses, procrastination, pretentious people, merenque and politics.
strengths , Aldys is a brilliant woman with high hopes for her pupils. She encourages them to aspire for higher things, doing everything in her power to help them reach their dreams. Aldys Boucher is a formidably charismatic character indeed, and on a good day, (which is most of the time) she's someone to be confided in with any trouble at all. She'll defend her “pack” to the ends of the earth, if need be.
weaknesses , for a teacher, Aldys can be somewhat impatient at times. She wants real effort from her students, and can even get a bit sarcastic when her expectations aren't met. On her worst days, she's a female version of Severus Snape. Since her accident years back, miss Boucher has a weak back, and is forced to constantly wear a corset. This can lead to unintentional comedy, especially if the poor woman has to pick something up off the floor.
fears , Miss Boucher is terribly afraid of horses. She used to love riding, until she fell and hurt her back. Aldys has since recovered, but the fear remains.
quirks , Aldys certainly doesn't spare overdone facial expressions, and tends to talk with her hands a lot, which makes her teaching interesting to watch, to say the least.
secrets , Miss Boucher is fascinated with death and arcane mysteries, even the occult. Needless to say this curiosity for the “other side” isn't a suitable topic for light coffee-table chit-chat.
how , Aldys Boucher has dressed like a proper young Victorian lady all her life. Ever since her childhood, the dresses in history books and the imagery of dark fairytales have been a major influence, and this has only grown more pronounced since Miss Boucher discovered the wide world of online fashion, EGL and EGA in particular.
general , Here is someone who can definitely hold their own, and values loyalty and respect to a fault. Despite this, she's usually found with a smile on her face, only resorting to rigid disciplinary tactics in extreme circumstances. A truly complicated personality, it's relatively easy to figure out how to get along with miss Boucher, and although not overtly warm or touchy-feely, she nevertheless has a noticeable amount of likeability.

hometown , Edinburgh
family , Aldys' father, William, died when she was 10. She has no siblings, but has a French mother, Esther, to whom she is very close.
pets , Aldys breeds beautifully-coloured orchid mantises.
best memory , The day Aldys finally graduated, and she and her best friend Caroline celebrated by having a sumptuous picnic by the sea. They got a little tipsy and ended up forgetting where they left their blanket. The girls were forced to walk to the city in their underwear, the rain pouring down. When they got back, Aldys' mom made them hot chocolate and warm sandwiches. For some reason, although good memories are in abundance for Aldys, that was just the perfect day.
worst memory , Even with the horse-riding accident, the death of Aldys' father is her worst memory. William was a police officer, was working one winter night, and never came home. The next morning his fellow policemen came to the door, telling Esther and Aldys that William had been unfortunate enough to get in the middle of a drunken bar-fight. One of the brawlers punched Aldys' father in the jaw, his head hitting the brick wall behind him, fracturing his skull.
history , Aldys Isabelle Boucher was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, living with her parents until the untimely death of her father, who had been modern-minded enough to take the last name of his wife when they were wed. After that it was just Aldys and florist mother, often helping out at the flower shop. She developed quite the aptitude for flower-arranging, but this was a passion she never followed to the extent of making it her livelihood. She was a rather quiet, easy and even sombre child, perhaps thinking this was somehow helping her mother cope with raising a child on her own with little money or time to spare on her selfish whims. Aldys loved to go riding, and for a long time, this was one of her few hobbies that had a price tag to them, and first had only agreed to it after her mother insisted she do something besides sit inside reading grim novels in apparent mourning.
Aldys grew up to be a rather popular young woman, and suitors came and went. Still, nothing could distract her from her appreciation of books, and as years went on, it was time to start considering a career. Aldys became more and more determined that unless her future occupation did not involve reading or art in some form or another, it was not a viable option to begin with. She majored in English and literature at her University of choice, and discovered a knack for helping her friends and co-students with their learning, even if some of the males she tutored seemed to be far more interested in something else than Blake or Poe. Be that as it may, this was the defining time, and before long, Aldys found a career path in teaching.
After her graduation, Aldys worked as a substitute in her former place of education for a few years, until she heard about an opening at the Mille-feuille Academy from her friend, Caroline. Aldys decided to apply for the position, and was over the moon when she was contacted with a positive reply after a few interviews. She thoroughly enjoys the Academy's atmosphere and setting, not to mention the bright minds she has the privilege of sharing her knowledge (and unusual antics) with.

sample post , Aldys woke up abruptly from a nightmare with the adrenaline still making her heart pound like mad inside her chest. She had dreamed of that darn hooved abomination again, and just as she was about to hit the ground, she stirred. Laying there for another minute or so, she caught her breath, and turned to reach for the alarm clock on her nightstand. It was hardly even morning yet, and only the palest inkling of daylight was visible where the sky met the hilltops.
Thinking she couldn't possibly go back to sleep and risk viewing a re-run of the traumatic equestrian events, Aldys tossed aside her covers and placed her small feet inside the uncharacteristic baby seal plush slippers waiting by the bed. She put her tangled, red hair in a quick bun, grabbed her black, velvet dressing-gown, which was haphazardly thrown over the high-backed chair after a long evening of grading essays, made sure she was at least half-way decent, and sneaked out of her room.
The corridor was dark and quiet, as was to be expected, so the insomniac professor decided to go for a stroll. 'If anyone asks, I'll say I'm doing some type of a routine inspection', Aldys figured to herself. Her footsteps luckily muffled by the carpet that ran from one end to the other. Aldys was rather surprised to see a wedge of light flowing to the hallway, was someone else up this early as well?
