tattoos and piercings, Zahra has one tattoo, that of a woman wearing a black dress and holding the Earth in her cupped hands, on her back. The woman has snow white skin, chocolate brown eyes, and flowing red hair.
best feature , Zahra’s best feature is her peony red hair, which hangs liked curled streamers down her back. She also has a cute, small, round nose, which her relatives admire above all else.
general ,Zahra is a very thin, short woman, with large thigh and calf muscles built up from years of regular exercise six days a week. Her hair is long and a shade of bright, flaming red that sticks out against her dark, charcoal black skin. A thin, semi-triangular face sets off her slightly square chin, which is held up by her long, graceful neck. Two pairs of brown eyes look out from her face, which is so dark that her equally dark eyes almost sink into her face.
She maintains a fairly healthy diet of whole grains, whole wheat, fruit, and rarely eats sweets except for on holidays, special occasions, and once a week at all other times. Zahra also keeps to a pretty unchanging routine which consists of an early wake up time around eight on the weekends and earlier on school days. She follows a schedule where the most difficult activities are done first in a logical sequence increasing from most pressing to least pressing.
Zahra wears mostly authoritative aristocratic clothing befitting of a professor several years her elder to keep with her logical sequence of being. Zahra sticks mostly to dark blacks, reds, browns, bright yellows and other light shades of color that compliment her skin tone; although she likes looking strict, she occasionally offsets her harsh look with a few youthful additions like bright bows, a pink ruffled shirt, or high heels. She almost always wears a brooch at her neck, a long skirt, shoes with square heels and round toes, and occasionally a large, wide brimmed hat. Some people say she looks straight out of a late nineteenth century woman’s fashion magazine, the kind you might purchase at a general store.
Zahra does wear makeup, but she makes sure it matches the outfit she is wearing and the context in which she is wearing the outfit. Makeup is one of the few areas where Zahra plays to her youth, choosing the brightest colors of lipstick and eye shadow possible given her professional clothing.
Outside of school Zahra wears mostly exercise clothes because she spends an hour a day six times a week at the gym. At other times she wears straight leg jeans, ruffled shirts, rocking horse shoes, brightly colored shirts with simple patterns, scarfs, top hats, thin button down sweaters, and very youthful clothing. Zahra looks several years younger outside of school than she does inside school, and some people have trouble recognizing her because of how different she looks when she is not teaching.

likes , multicultural literature, polytheistic religions, South African novelists, reading, clubbing and dancing, long, hot showers and hot baths, knitting, nature, hiking, exercise, cooking, tea, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s music, linguistics, languages, and windy weather.[/color]
dislikes , racism, racists, any isms that favor one group of privileged individuals over another, William Shakespeare plays, American and British literature, soup (although she will eat it, she just does not prefer to), insects, and the sound of cars at night.
strengths , developing imagery, poetry, linguistic functions of English, languages, essay writing, interpersonal skills, motivating students, targeting individual strengths and weaknesses, incorporating a student’s culture into lesson plans, understanding the racial dynamic of a school, endurance activities like running, team teaching, and she is hard to anger.
weaknesses , time management (used to be late with everything before she became a teacher), tasks that require lots of strength or quick bursts of energy, and getting angry when it is necessary (she is hard to anger).
fears , insects, her uncertain sexuality (has no idea how to comprehend it because there is no cultural equivalent in her home country), her classroom getting out of hand, death (especially of a family member), being pricked by a pin or a needle, failing grades, and plane rides.
quirks , Laughs in private when her students make silly mistakes, can be seen eating her food mixed together regardless of its taste, wears bulky sweaters in private, enjoys watching the same cake show over and over, and uses an umbrella when it snows.
secrets , Her changing sexuality and she secretly wants a beard but knows it would look ugly.
how , Zahra discovered aristocrat Lolita style when she was seventeen years old. Some of her friends in high school were talking about dressing in Lolita fashion, but Zahra was too poor to afford any Lolita clothing. Zahra patiently browsed internet sites like EGL boards, Metamorphose, and Angelic Pretty until she was out of high school and in college, where she saved up enough money to buy her first high waisted aristocrat skirt from Bodyline. Her collection only grew from there, expanding to include a few Moi-Meme Moitie skirts and shirts. Zahra isn’t the richest person in the world, so her Lolita collection consists only of both what is practical to wear to work and what makes her look pretty.
general , Zahra is generally a very quiet, calm, nice person, although she looks quite severe because of her thin face and the sharp contours of her face. Much of Zahra’s teacher training also comes from a woman who maintained a very strict hold over the students in her classroom, so Zahra does not know how to be anything other than strict when she is angry and nice when things go her way. This teaching tactic does make Zahra seem harsher than she intends to be, but she counters it with brightly colored notes to her students on their tests, fun lessons and activities, and a cheerful smile when she isn’t angry.
It is very hard for Zahra to get angry, although when she does she takes a while to calm down. If Zahra gets upset when she is not in school, she explodes like a puffer fish (think big and unnecessarily flashy).
When Zahra is not angry, she enjoys the little things in life, like hot baths, a good sandwich, long walks outside on windy days, and a stroll through nice flower gardens. For example, Zahra always smiles when she drinks her tea each morning, because Zahra feels each sip of tea is a sip of priceless liquid energy. On the other hand, the unfortunate person who gets between Zahra and her daily cup of morning bliss will be on the receiving end of many withering stares courtesy of severe caffeine deprivation.
It is easiest for Zahra to remain calm when she follows her daily routine, which consists of work, exercise, and downtime. Zahra gets most angry when her routine changes and she has to adapt to more demands than she accounts for in a given day. For example, Zahra once came to a linguistics class she was taking having allotted time to learn about a particular chapter. Without meaning to Zahra snapped at the professor when the chapter she was expecting was left out of the lesson.
In short, Zahra is a woman of opposites and contradictions; while she may be calm, she can also get confused, angry, or put off balance if something disturbs what is keeping her calm.

hometown , Al Muharraq, The Kingdom of Bahrain
family , One mother who is a stay at home wife and a father who owns a rug store. Both are Bahraini. She also has six siblings, four sisters and two brothers; one of Zahra’s brothers currently lives in The United Kingdom.
pets ,One balding, fat, black and white rat.
best memory , Zahra’s best memory is when she received her teaching certificate in the United Kingdom.
worst memory , Her worst memory is when she came to The United Kingdom with only her two brothers as companions, a few years after which her mother died.
history , When Zahra was born in Al Muharraq in 1986, she was born into a Bahrain that was in the middle of feeling immense pressure from other Middle Eastern countries. Iran, Quatar, and other countries were putting immense economic pressure on Bahrain to improve its political relationship to the countries surrounding it. Bahrain entered a huge economic slump shortly after Zahra’s birth, which only worsened with the seizing of Bahrain’s territory by a rival state, Qatar.
What made matters worse was that the former leader, Shayakh Khalifa Ibn Salman al-Khalifa, who had suffered a heart attack in April 1985, returned to the throne in 1986. He replaced the younger leader currently in charge, which caused Bahrain’s already strained relations with Qatar to erupt into near war like conditions. The number of people detained in Bahrain, deported, or arrested rose dramatically.
Zahra’s parents, scared to live in a country which was steadily traveling toward war, shipped Zahra out of the country to live with some of her second cousins in the United Kingdom. Zahra stayed there through her young childhood, where she eventually went to University College of Northamtpon to get a master’s degree in history education. Once Zahra finished her teacher training at the young age of twenty four, she took her teaching certificate and applied for a position teaching at Mille -Feuille Academy. She was very quickly asked to appear at Mille – Feuille for an interview regarding her interest in teaching history.

sample post , Zahra pulled quickly at the simple, black, gem encrusted broach lining the center of her white, ruffled blouse. She took a quick step backward to admire her outfit in the long, floor length mirror standing against the front wall of her small, cramped room. The black, ankle length skirt she was wearing complimented her sharp, triangle toed high heeled boots nicely; her black, wide-brimmed hat with a white bow and some small, refined white roses around the brim really made her look sophisticated, like some stern matron of an all girl’s school. She smiled, quite pleased with her overall look, because she had achieved the severe, commanding look that she desired.
With a few quick, skilled strokes of an eye shadow brush she had a dark liner across her eyes, dark red lipstick on her lips, and a single perl in each ear. Zahra, having completed her look for the day, grabbed her black teaching bag, which read library volunteer on the front, and left her room. Although the bag was no wider than a flute case and little bigger than a few thick algebra textbooks, Zahra felt it did the trick; after all, it had lots of pockets where she was currently storing over twenty pens of various sizes and colors.
Teachers didn’t need any more pens and materials than Zahra had, and if they did, she could always purchase some from a nearby school supply store.
